Course Description

Applied Combat Trauma Care - Immediate Trauma Response (ACTC-ITR) ACTC - ITR is the comprehensive approach to treating victims in dynamic, mass casualty events, as well as securing and managing the scene to provide the most organized and proficient transfer of care to fellow first responders. This course is designed for members of the public and first responders who wish to develop an All Hazards response, where the rescue of others may include facing the threat of injury or death. This course includes the following: - Recognition of combat wound patterns and massive hemorrhage - The use of tourniquets to control life threatening bleeding - The use of wound packing and hemostatic agents - Patient care to manage shock and hypothermia - Casualty extraction and hand-off to responding authorities - Tactical Decision making - Managing dynamic scenes - Scenario based training - Hands on live tissue application - Free tourniquet!
