An approach to enable individuals to continue through & win the fight


Course Description

Surviving Contact is the live-fire comprehensive approach that enables individuals to continue through and win the fight at all costs. Participants will develop and perform a hybrid set of skills that center around emergency medical concepts and working a handgun under duress and loss of limb and senses. This course includes the following: - recognition of combat wound patterns and massive hemorrhage - use of tourniquets, wound packing, and other methods of controlling massive hemorrhage with live tissue - self aid, buddy aid, and team aid - extrication while in contact - pistol manipulation with loss of limb and/or senses - emergency pistol malfunctions, reloads, and manipulation - live fire drills with cumulative practical application *This course is not designed for those who are new to operating a pistol. Students should have a moderate background with pistol fundamentals, and be able to safely operate a weapon under normal circumstances. Required gear - - Serviceable semi-automatic handgun with at least 3 magazines - Holster (preferred OWB but bring what you carry) - 100 rounds of ball ammunition - Eye and ear protection - Pants and closed-toe shoes Class Schedule: - 10/01/2022
